COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a long-term lung condition that makes breathing difficult. It includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. The disease is most commonly caused by smoking and long-term exposure to irritants. Symptoms worsen over time, but early treatment can slow progression.
